Overview
Te Wharekura O Ruatoki
The following overview is
prepared for the year of 2006 and 2007.
Curriculum Plan: Kura Tuarua
May: Staff will be
invited to submit new subjects for 2007. Said subjects will be taken
to the Curriculum sub-committee for approval.
August: Subject choices will
be distributed to students for perusal and choice.
October: Draft curriculum
timetable will be submitted to the Curriculum sub-committee for approval.
November: Approved curriculum
timetable will be provided for staff and students.
Curriculum Plan: Middle
School and Junior School
The Middle School rotation
process is in it’s early stages. A review and evaluation of the rotation,
staff, subjects and time frame will occur.
May: All curriculum subjects
within the rotation will be reviewed and evaluated. A report from
working staff will be required for each curriculum subject. Numeracy
and Literacy assessments are to be completed in the last week of term.
Assessments are to analysed and programmes, IEP etc to be planned for student’s
return for term 2.
June: Sub-committee and staff
to analyse reporting data from the rotation subjects and prepare a report
to the Curriculum sub-committee with recommendations. Numeracy and Literacy
assessments are to be completed in the last week of term. Assessments are
to analysed and programmes, IEP etc to be planned for student’s return
for term 3.
September: Numeracy and Literacy
assessments are to be completed in the last week of term. Assessments are
to analysed and programmes, IEP etc to be planned for student’s return
for term 4.
October: An interim report
to curriculum sub-committee regarding progress of rotation subjects and
junior school assessment data. Budget for PD 2007 and curriculum areas.
November: Teachers meet with
curriculum sub-committee to review and evaluate assessment data, programmes
and plans. Report to parents though school reports and report evening/s.
December: Plan and timetable
2007 PD, additions to annual plan, term plans, units of work and classroom
plans for all curriculum areas.
